Every time our staff comes back from the community, their fatigue is overshadowed with the joy of knowing they have part of making a change in someone’s life.

Wellspring has learnt that we need to identify with the community in order to influence them. A team goes out twice a week to meet and analyze the challenges people face so as to be able to make recommendations. To identify untapped skills so people can be channeled into what they already have within them. Here skills of interest and talent are identified and then the individual is supported with the necessary training. Where possible small capital investments are given to the individuals who are competent to use it to better their circumstances.

Health talks and medical outreaches form part of the community outreaches. Teaching on different health topics ranging from first aid, immunization, prevention of diseases, family planning, and others. Mosquito nets and other items are given out to help carb the prevalence of malaria.

Management and support for our Physiotherapy group. Disability in this country is a big problem as there doesn’t exist a system to support people with such challenges.
