About Wellspring

Why not come to see what we do?

Wellspring has accommodation on site for at least 15 people to share, making it suitable for groups who would like to come together. Our centre acts as a base for people to launch out from into the community, especially visitors.

While staying with us, you would be able to see the following aspects of our work:

Wellspring School

Our motto is “Achieving the best for each Child”.

The Wellspring School teaches children ranging from 3 – 13 years, all with different learning abilities. Some of the children have severe learning challenges, while others have physical and mobility challenges.

Our role is to treat them as individuals, to get the best out of them. We endeavour to create a friendly learning environment.

If this your area of expertise, you are very welcome to join us for a short visit (7 – 14  day), or a longer (3 – 6 months or more) stay.

You could also get involved by sponsoring a child.

The Health Centre

Our new Health Centre is under construction. We would like to encourage different people with different expertise to join us in enhancing our healthcare work.

To complete our building, we still need a substantial sum and so are looking for sponsorships and donations to help us finish this much-needed project.

Donations in form of equipment are also very welcome, so please contact us if you feel you may be able to offer this form of support.

Wellspring Business Development

Businesses in the local area can be set up to sell fruit, vegetables, milk and other foods, or perhaps to rear chickens or pigs, etc. The capital needed to start an enterprise might range from £50 to 100 or more.

Our staff give advice and support while monitoring the development of these businesses and how the capital has been invested.

Wellspring Housing Development

Houses made from eco-friendly blocks, are cheaper to build than conventional homes. A house with 3 rooms can cost between £8,500 and £10,000. Wellspring has already acquired a 3.5 acre piece of land to accommodate this project.

Community work

Our staff goes to the community every day to support, encourage, pray and do medical checks, training in hygiene, nutrition, business skills and adult literacy as part of the programme.

These help the people to acquire knowledge and skills to start their own small businesses that can generate incomes for themselves and their families.

Adult literacy classes help the adults who can no longer go back to formal school. these people can learn to read and write and this helps them to build their worth but also deal with their customers in their small businesses.

Medical camps to deal with ailments which people neglect and probably because of lack of finances. Free treatment is given and referral for those that need more attention.

You can join the community team and just show love to the community or support a family on a monthly basis or a one-off gift.

Church

We are a family church and our core values are discipleship, worship.  The church is seen as a vehicle that ushers in the Kingdom of God. We encourage the people to go out into the community, take the love of God to where the need is.

We would like to see all aspects of the church life being represented and alive. We have a vibrant and thriving youth ministry, as most of the membership is of young adults. The children’s ministry is given such high priority, “Train a child in the way they should go and when they have grown up they will not depart from it.”

Sponsor and Donate

You do not have to be at Wellspring to lend a helping hand. Instead, you could:

  • Sponsor a child in the school. By doing this, you can enable a child a brighter future with many more possibilities for that child. Donations of £5, £10 or £20 per month can go a long way to ensuring a child’s development and education
  • Donate to the running of a business startup project with WBD. It can cost as little as £50 or £100 to kickstart a business
  • Housing with WHD. Help turn a family from the underprivileged community into homeowners
  • Sponsor one of the families that needs financial help to pay their medical or physiotherapy bills. This will enable people to live independent, fulfilling lives, that will definitely benefit themselves as well as others around them
